- Do I tip my driver?
Tips/gratuities to tour directors, drivers, and local guides are not included and to the discretion of the visitor.
A gratuity amount for exceptional service is 20%
- Can I bring my pet on-board?
Pets are not allowed onboard at any time with the exception of people with disabilities with service animals.
- Do I need to be a bus passenger to store my luggage?
No, the station is happy to store luggage for customers even if they aren’t taking a bus tour that day.
The station cannot store the following:
- Illegal goods
- Living plants or animals
- Food or perishable goods
- Cash and securities
- Firearms, munitions, or explosives
- Toxic, polluted, or contaminated goods
- Where can I store my luggage?
Capital City Station (Victoria Bus Depot), offers secure luggage storage, located at 721 Douglas Street, Victoria BC.
Storage Prices:

- 1 hour or less: $2.50 per bag
- 2 hours: $5.00 per bag
- 4 hours: $8.00 per bag
- Full day: $12.00 per bag
- Overnight: $20.00 per bag
Luggage storage is charged per bag regardless of the size. Exceptions may apply for oversized such as bicycles, scooters, surfboards, etc. These types of items will be assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on storage available on the day.

- Are there seatbelts/restraints on the vehicles?
We have a variety of vehicles in our fleet, some of which are equipped with seatbelts/lap restraints. If the vehicle assigned to your trip is equipped with such, it is mandated under the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act that all passengers wear the provided seatbelts/lap restraints at all times while on board the bus.
While the driver will advise passengers to wear the seatbelts/lap restraints, if equipped, the driver cannot be held responsible for ensuring this is adhered to. By purchasing travel with us, you understand and agree that you as the purchaser are responsible for ensuring that you and anyone else you purchase travel for are advised that the use of seatbelts/lap restraints is mandatory. If you, as the purchaser, will not be present for the duration of the trip, you are responsible for assigning a lead passenger among the people travelling, 19+ years of age, who is responsible for ensuring that anyone you purchased travel for are advised that the use of seatbelts/lap restraints is mandatory, and that they use the seatbelts/lap restraints during the trip.
- How long is the Hop On Hop Off tour?
Our narrated tour is approximately 90 minutes long. However, buses can be delayed 5-10 minutes depending on road conditions, events and traffic.
- How long are Hop On Hop Off tickets valid?
Once your ticket is redeemed it is valid for 24 hours. See one of our ticket agents if you wish to book a 48 hour ticket.
- Does the bus stop at every stop?
The bus will stop at every stop, allowing for enough time for those who want to hop on and hop off to do so.
- Will there be opportunities to take photos?
Our experienced drivers will slow down at beautiful views or landmarks to ensure enough time to snap a photo from the bus. If you wish to take a better look, you’re welcome to hop off at any of our 15 stops.
- If I hop off at a stop, how long will I have to wait for the next bus?
Our buses run hourly from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please refer to our route schedule, for specific stop times. Talk to one of our ticket agents for the most up to date schedule.
- I’m staying at the Delta Hotel. Can I get on the bus there?
Yes! You can hop on at any of our 15 stops. Please call customer service to make arrangements.
- Is the tour narrated?
Our tour is fully narrated through our speaker system with a recorded narration.
- Is the bus wheelchair accessible?
All our buses for the Hop On Hop Off tour are wheelchair accessible on the lower deck. If you are booking the Butchart Gardens tour and need wheelchair accessible, please contact customer service.
- How should I dress if I want to sit on the top level?
Depending on the weather it can get quite windy, especially when driving along the water. We have blankets for people that want to get the best views without getting too cold.
- I am not able to make the date I booked for the Hop On Hop Off tour. Can I go another day?
Of course! Tickets not redeemed on the date of reservation are valid for use within 90 days.
- Are food and drinks allowed on the bus?
Passengers are welcome to bring food and/or beverage items on the bus. We reserve the right to ask that any passengers safely and appropriately dispose of their items before entering the bus.
- Do I have to check in before my tour?
Yes, check in with one of our ticket agents at least 15 minutes before your tour time. They will make sure you have the correct tickets and information before boarding.
- What time should I arrive for my 11:30 am tour?
Arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Boarding is on a first come first serve basis.
- Do the tours run rain or shine?
We are not called the Wet West Coast for no reason. Our tours run in all sorts of weather. If we need to cancel due to extreme weather conditions, you will be contacted.

- No smoking or vaping is permitted on any of the company’s buses.
- Unruly or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the bus. No compensation or refund to passengers removed from a bus, and we will not be responsible for any onward transportation arrangements.
